Hospital Chaplain to Lead Trial Program of Similar Pastoral Care Services to Alabama Business
Mobile, AL (PRWEB) August 17, 2005 -- Steve Durkac is a chaplain with an area hospital who has teamed up with the National Heritage Foundation to test market the helping benefits of pastoral care to the workforce of Mobile, Alabama.
Steve said, "One day as I was making my hospital chaplaincy rounds, the thought hit me, why don't businesses take advantage of the benefits of pastoral care services for their workforce? Why not help employees find resolution to the life issues that inhibit their work? Just as in a hospital setting we help patients find resolution to the issues that inhibit their healing?"
This trial program is looking for three to five Mobile, Alabama businesses, varying business or industries, from 10 to 1,200 employees, service or manufacturing, to help test market the benefit of voluntary use workplace chaplain care services, at no-cost to the company.
Each week chaplain Steve Durkac and trained workplace pastoral care associates will make visits to the companies that have signed up for this unique 3 month no-cost trial employee care services. Steve calls it a "ministry of availability." He says business chaplains have been popular in England since the early 1800s and since 1940 a few larger organizations have sold chaplaincy services to businesses in the United States.
However, tighter corporate budgets have made the hiring of company chaplains prohibitive. The selected businesses for this trial program will be able to benefit from the programs' proactive measures against workplace stress and resolution of life-issues that simply can't be left at the door.
An Aug. 9, 2003, Reuters newswire story, entitled, Work Stress Taking Larger Financial Toll, cites diminished productivity, turnover, and insurance claims as a direct result of personal stress issues.
This trial program will evaluate the voluntary benefit of non-denominational pastoral care availability to personnel and will measure employee feedback for Human Resource management.
Business owners interested in this no-cost trial program for the Mobile, Alabama businesses should contact Chaplain Steve Durkac at (251) 753-2065 or visit www.stevedurkac.com.
