New ChurchAlert System by Falcon Direct Introduced in Response to Alabama Church Burnings

Birmingham, AL (PRWEB) February 11, 2006 -- Falcon Direct, Inc., a leading provider of public safety communications systems today announced the availability of the ChurchAlert system.

The recent burnings of churches in central and western Alabama have demonstrated a clear need for rapid notification in the event of unauthorized entry or fire. Unfortunately, many of the smaller churches do not have security systems. Many do not have insurance.

The ChurchAlert system was developed using available low cost technology and a working partnership between the churches, local area fire departments and Falcon Direct acting as a technology resource.

Participating churches can purchase an emergency radio notification unit that can be connected to low cost entry and/or sensors. When activated, a voice message indicating location, and type of sensor activation is broadcast over a special radio frequency that can be added to existing radios or pagers used by the local fire department.

In rural areas, a local fire department can generally respond much quicker than law enforcement agencies. The direct notification to fire department personnel typically results in response times within just a few minutes. The cost to the church is normally under a thousand dollars. There is no expense to the participating fire department.

The McAdory Fire and Rescue Service near Birmingham, Alabama is the first department in the nation to offer this service at no charge to local area churches through a federal grant recently awarded for this purpose.

Additional information is available on request.
