Malevolent Race of Reptilians Threaten Galactic Domination
Seabrook, TX (PRWeb) January 29, 2007 -- Brad W. Philpot's new novel may be his first, but this space-faring story has been in the works for years. The original impetus began during his days as a student in university, having had the rare opportunity to sit in on an inspiring lecture by infamous astronomer, Carl Sagan. Now, with a twenty-three year career in inspection, testing, and maintaining research equipment at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX, Philpot has compiled his lifelong interests of space technology and science fiction releasing "The Paladin Chronicles" (ISBN 978-1598005653, Outskirts Press, 2006).
Nominated for a 2006 EVVY award held by the Colorado Independent Publisher's Association in June 2007, Philpot's debut novel is a significant contender in the genre of Science Fiction.
"The Paladin Chronicles" tells an earth-based space adventure set in the not too distant future. The Elders, the most advanced race in the galaxy are on the run from a race of reptilians which they once shared a symbiotic relationship. These rouge reptilians, aka the Zillians, have only one goal - galactic domination. The peaceful Elders do not engage in warfare and retreat across the galaxy to the planet Earth to devise their plan. They will raise and train a small group of Earthlings to become the greatest warriors in the galaxy and defeat the Zillians.
This new breed, the Paladins, eventually train an Earth force to fight the Zillian onslaught. After a successful first battle, the defeated Zillians build another fleet, but by this time, the Earth alliance has fallen apart; mainly due to a very influential and brilliant, but bitter man, Dr. Alvan Grosset. He is sent to the home base of the Paladins to negotiate another alliance, but insidiously finds himself on a different mission with two other Paladins that has himself and crew on an adventure that takes an unexpected turn for the worse.
With its intriguing cast of characters, "The Paladin Chronicles" delivers a strong foundation for Philpot's new book series which will undoubtedly raise the bar from the re-run space novels on the market today. His panoramic 3-D battle sequences and inventive space weaponry, including cryogenic canons, will thrill both sci-fi neophytes and veterans. Philpot has truly discovered an entertaining confluence of edge-of-your-seat adventure, new space possibilities, with a thought provoking foray into the actual creation of human nature as we know it.
Brad W. Philpot resides in Seabrook, Texas. He is a college graduate and a veteran of the United States Army. Philpot has had a long and noted career as a Johnson Space Center contractor and inspector, certified in cryogenics, vibration analysis, infra-red thermography, ultrasonics, and laser alignment as well as crane inspection and certification. "The Paladin Chronicles" (ISBN 978-1598005653, Outskirts Press, 2006) can be purchased at online bookstores and fine booksellers across the country.
